Bio
Sometimes, tragedy creates opportunity for beauty to shine through. In my early teen years, I experienced such a tragedy and was forced to live at Burnett Bayland Home for Children. I received a set of oil paints for Christmas, everything changed. I immersed myself in painting, drawn to the depth, richness, and expressive possibilities of oilsa passion that has shaped my work ever since.

My first oil painting was of a small white church on the grounds. I gave it to the home as a thank you, and years later, I was deeply moved to see it still hanging in the administrative office, a quiet reminder of where my artistic journey began.

My early paintings marked the beginning of a lifelong artistic journey, one rooted in observation, mood, and emotional connection. I draw inspiration from Impressionist masters such as Monet, Degas, and Cassatt, along with realist painters including Caillebotte, Wright, and Eakins. My style is grounded in realism but softened with an impressionistic sensibility, favoring atmosphere and feeling over strict photo realism. I am especially drawn to painting people, trees, and flowers.

Alongside fine art, I spent many years working as a graphic designer, a career that strengthened my understanding of composition, color, and design. I believe the two disciplines informed and enriched one another, adding depth and variety to my creative work.

I have been an active member of the Tomball Art League since 2007, participating regularly in exhibitions, workshops, and have held leadership roles within the organization. Today, I devote most of my creative time to fine art, working in acrylics and watercolor while returning more fully to oil paintingmy first and enduring love.
